This is one of the best mafia-themed movies in 2013. Finally at least there is no so-called happy ending, and almost everyone in the movie died in the end, fulfilling the director's own style. It is cold and dark, telling the audience that the anti-drug war is not romance, but a factually bleeding fight. And, the audience would feel the subtle sarcasm to the Mainland politics and legislation.
It is a flaw that the Mainland version of the movie is a little too short to demonstrate the spiritual change of the big villain called Cai Tianming (by Louis Koo), or it would be as good as "Election".
