This is a beautiful yet desperate poem-like movie, on how a man revenged his ex-wife who had betrayed him: to write a novel named after his ex-wife's nickname, tearing apart many fascinated but hypocritical aspects of so-called upper-class and their love. You may be able to call it a story on realistic vs romantic, or a revenge of a gentleman.
The two stories, the realistic one and the drama one, overlap each other and make the movie more tragic. The drama part reminded me of the controversial movie "Dead Man Walking", the crime of raping is one of the most despicable crimes, which I think is the reason why the leading guy wrote such a novel to hurt his ex-wife.
Performance impression:
Director: Tom Ford
Stars: Amy Adams, Jake Gyllenhaal

Beautiful but brutal
