Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs/白雪公主和七个小矮人

Doubtlessly this is one of the biggest milestones in Disney's history. This animation is Walt Disney's first full-length movie. Its drawing technique is still good even with today's standard, and it establishes a standard image of princess, which conquers generations of children and makes them believe Snow White is the image of a perfect princess.

Inheriting Disney's tradition, singing and dancing occupies lots of time in this animation, which makes the real development of the story seems being compressed. The audience can see that Snow White sings and dances with cute animals and dwarfs, which is good but may not fulfill the current audience's need.

As to Snow White herself, I must say that she is more like a maid rather than a princess. Here is a detailed analysis on why Disney created such a maid-like princess at that time in 1930's. Simply put, at that time, the ideal image of a girl is a maid-like girl, because people need girls to do the housework and take care of the whole family rather than to be a noble princess. Thus, the image of Snow White in this animation would be rejected by the audience if it were a new film. Today, the audience may possibly prefer a Snow White in "Snow White and the Huntsman".
