Although the movie employs the traditional framework of "fights between the good and the evil", it is kind of a metaphor to Russian political condition without those sci-fi covers. "The Light" and "the Dark" both represent some specific political powers, and high above all them there are supreme-court-like "investigators". So those audience who are not familiar with Russia may find it a little difficult to catch up with the story.

虽然本片采用的是传统的“正邪之间的斗争”，但刨去那些科幻题材的外壳，感觉其中更多的还是对俄罗斯政治的隐喻，光明和黑暗都代表了特定的政治势力，而在这样的政治势力之上，又有更高的类似最高法庭一样的“调查员”的存在。所以对俄罗斯了解不多的观众来说，难免有些不太好把握。
