Turandot/图兰朵

This famous opera was about a Chinese princess. But obviously this was a western story with "China" as a coat. In the form of animation, the story highlighted the princess' romance. She stumped foreign princes continuously with three questions, but was unexpectedly defected by a more smart prince. And she, in accordance with the plot, fell in love with the prince and there was a happy ending.

However, this story might be better if the end were not this way. The prince who went to challenge the princess actually had a lover. If he cared his love, he should not have gone to challenge the princess, because he would have to marry her if he succeeded and be executed if he failed and break her lover's heart. If he did not care his love, he should not have persuaded the arrogant with the excuse of "love" after his successful challenge. His ex-lover was a tragic figure; the poor girl was so passionate to her princess, but not only was she unable to stop him to go to challenge the princess, but also she had to suicide under the torture of love. The story had better to end here. The transfer of the princess from arrogance to passiona was too abrupt. So, although it was a complete story, it may not be a good one.

Although this was an animation, the soundtrack applied the original opera music, which made it outstanding to other animations.

这部著名的歌剧虽然是讲的一个中国公主的故事，不过“中国”只是外衣，核心还是一个西方的故事。本片是以动画片的形式，突出了公主的罗曼史，她用三个问题逐一难倒前来求婚的外国王子，但最后没想到却被一个更加聪明的王子所破解，而她——按照剧情——也最终被王子的热情所融化，爱上了这个王子，最后是大圆满的结局。

不过，这个故事如果只有一半的话，可能会更好。前去挑战公主的王子其实是有情人的，如果他忠于爱情，那就不应该去挑战公主，因为他挑战成功就必须娶公主，而如果挑战失败就必然被处死，让情人伤心。而如果他不在意爱情，那就不应该在挑战成功之后，用“爱情”作为借口来说服骄傲冷艳的公主。王子的前情人真是个悲剧的人物，她对王子一往情深，却无法阻止王子前去挑战公主，最后在爱情的折磨下自刎而死。——故事在这里结束是最好的。而公主从骄傲到接受爱情的转变也非常突兀。所以，故事虽然完整，不过不算是一个过得去的好故事。

这虽然是部动画片，但配乐都是用原歌剧的乐曲，所以在音乐上显然超出一般的动画片。
