Sacrifice/赵氏孤儿

The movie derived from a famous Chinese story. In order to keep the only offspring of a loyal, his doctor handed his own son, instead of the loyal's own son, to the loyal's enemy. And the doctor informed his stepson the loyalist's own offspring of the fact when he grew up, and the young son revengedto the enemy finally.

The reason why this story was highly praised by Chinese tradition was that it contained the connotation of blood-related clan and the ideology of blind loyalty; i.e., it does NOT matter whether there is law (or it doesn't exist at all), to kill the enemy of the family matters most, and you can do whatever to finish this "job" (even to sacrifice someone else's own offspring). It is surprising to see such a story catering the movie market in a modern society (or the movie told us China had NOT been a modern society at all).

Besides the story, the movie skill was acceptable, though a little too long.

本片取材自一个很著名的中国故事：为了保住一个忠臣的唯一后代，这个忠臣的医生用自己的儿子代替了这个忠臣的儿子，交给这个忠臣的仇人。等他的继子、这个忠臣的亲生子长大后，他把真相告诉了他，最终向仇人复仇。

这个故事之所以受到中国传统的推崇，在于它里面蕴含的血亲氏族和愚忠思想：社会的法律其实并不重要（或者并不存在），而杀掉家族的“仇人”才是最重要的，为此不惜付出任何代价（哪怕别人的亲生孩子的生命）。在一个现代社会里，这样的故事还能得到很大的市场，是令人惊奇的（或者它告诉我们其实中国还不是一个现代的社会）。

抛开故事的内核不谈，本片的电影技巧还是可以的，虽然略显冗长。
