12 Years a Slave/为奴十二载

The movie is much good for the Chinese audience to study American slavery. Slavery was indeed a sin, but how it grew up in a country with democracy and legislation and developed and destroyed finally? This movie could explain a lot. More importantly, the movie demonstrates that how the law could protect normal people's rights (though roughly), which was also the legal protection for Martin Luther King, Jr. to pursue racial equality.

对中国观众来说，本片是极好的美国奴隶制度的教材。奴隶制的确是罪恶，但它是如何在一个民主与法制国家生存、发展并最终被取缔的，本片都能给观众不少启迪。更重要的是：本片展现了法律是如何保障普通人的权利的（尽管历经坎坷），而这也是后来的马丁·路德·金能够以和平方式追求种族平等的法律保障。
