This documentary about villains is more than a simply one discussing villains in comic books or other media like movies, but kind of a philosophy of villains.
Usually, most readers/audience hate the villains in comic stories, but the truth is: they would not buy it if there were no villains. And, the stronger the villains are, the more attractive the story is.

Problem with DC and Marvel is that there is no real progression of characters and annoying thing, what has been tried to be represented in documentary as 'shocking' episodes where Batman gets his back broken by Bane, Superman dies etc., is that our heroes and villains will always come back, get re-booted and we can read all over again.Well, this may be too difficult for the writers/producers. It is understandable that the readers/audience always want some innovative stories, but it costs time to breed some new ones. That may be the reason why the writers have to make full use of the heroes and villains on the current list. There are few works like Game of Thrones, where heroes show up and then die.
