Compare to its Indian peer, this Chinese version made some changes in 1) the boy's sin from filming to raping, 2) the mother's personality more tempered and 3) the boy's father participating a local election and all the changes made the conflicts more intensive.
Last but not least, the ending part was changed to the husband's self-confession, which was the biggest difference between the two versions. I prefer Chinese ending. Yes, this may be the need to pass through the Chinese censorship, but also this ending highlighted the whole movie's idea: One must pay for whatever he did. The boy died because he raped the girl. The father confessed to the police because he plotted to cover the boy's being murdered and he found his little daughter had learned to lie from this event and he needed to correct it. This is a real father who wanted to protect both his family and their souls. This is also the social reality, a lost-lost reality, rather than a fairly exciting revenge story.
The length of the Chinese version is shorter than its Indian peer, which unavoidably made the explanation of the husband's fake proof a little obscure, but this is only a small fault.
