Among most war movies I've even watched, this is a black humorous one: the reason for war was gold/money; there was no truth, no faith, no belief, no values, Just money! How sarcastic it was! But, wasn't it kind of true for human beings? Most wars break out due to money, but few movies dare to say that directly. Now the movie dare to expose it, dare you blame it?
Except for the sarcastic part, this movie was a great entertaining one.
Clint Eastwood was still young at that time, I remembered him only when I reviewed this movie years later.
Performance impression:
Director: Brian G. Hutton
Stars: Clint Eastwood, Telly Savalas
