The sentence above is the point of the movie. Seven children swear that they shall get together every year on July 14th (it is the "Ghost Day" in Chinese lunar calendar); when they grow up, those who is unwilling to continue to come to the party have been killed one by one. The last girl understand the power of their swear with the aid of two cops, but it has been too late.
It might be better if the director discuss more on the friendship among the friends, which might strengthen its social depth but may weaken its horror atmosphere.
The horror atmosphere in the movie is so terrifying, and Lan Law impressed the audience much although she showed up only for several minutes.
