This movie reminded me of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen/神奇绅士联盟, I had not expected that this Dorian Gray had appeared in that movie before (not familiar with this famous man). Dorian Gray is a famous man in western literature, and it was a pity that I knew too little about western humanity.
This movie is more than a story of how a man corrupted. At the beginning, the guy was totally innocent, however, he was unavoidably facing lots of temptation, and almost was unable to avoid the fate of being lost. He needed a proper teacher or friend, however, he could not find one. This is more than a tragedy of one man, but a tragedy of the society. Maybe the book The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde would be better in describing Dorian's mind, and showed the audience his confusion, struggle and being lost.
And this story told us to be careful of your friend, you may hurt your friend or be hurt by him. Dorian Gray's friend Henry was a negative example. He led Dorian to fall from virtue, to ruin Dorian's inside moral fence, to destroy Dorian's good nature, and ruined Dorian eventually, however, he himself was vulnerable as he had a daughter who fell in love with immortal Dorian, and what if Dorian wanted to treat his daughter like he had treated other girls before?
