The Shining Balls/闪光的彩球

This is a typical education movie in 1980's in China: how a so-called bad student (usually a boy who does not completely follow teachers' instructions) transferred to a good boy with the aid of a nice teacher, who must be patient, kind, warm-hearted and mostly a woman.

The whole China should rethink such kind of education system of teaching students only to follow and to obey rather than to inspire their originality and creativity. Mainland China's education system produced lots of skilled engineers rather than scientists, while the latter might be more important to China.

Take the experiment in the movie as an example: five balls put in a narrow bottle as five dying people in a well, each student got a thread connected with a ball respectively and could pull the ball out of the bottle as to pull the dying person out of the well. The experiment required the five candidates to pull the five balls ASAP with a time limitation. Well, I think Chinese students in lack of creativity are unable to come to the idea of the arrangement of pulling the balls out of the bottle one by one, they may probably do not know what to do because none of the textbooks talked about it! This movie found the audience a boy who used to be bad solved the problem, which may be a hint that only such kind of students could still preserve some originality and creativity.
