Reign of Assassins/剑雨

The movie combined the kung fu effect design and the love story better than past, which was a sign of progress in Chinese movies: kung fu movies were not only limited to warriors or kung fu demonstration. Yep there was kung fu, but the story itself was more important. A successful movie succeeded primarily in telling a good story, not just to attract audience by kung fu design.

The starring actors/actresses were all good, yet Barbie Hsu (Big S) may be somewhat not that good. Her character was actually a challenging role with wild beauty, but unfortunately she did not make it.

本片在功夫设计和爱情桥段的结合上达到了一个新的高度，这是中国电影进步的一个标志：不再为了武侠而武侠，也不再为了功夫设计而功夫设计。功夫固然有，但故事本身更重要。成功的电影的首要因素是能讲好故事，而不仅仅是靠功夫的招牌来吸引观众。

主演们的感觉都不错，稍微差一点的是徐熙媛（大S）。她的角色实际上是一个具有野性美的挑战性角色，但可惜的是她没有演出这个味道。
