A Touch of Zen/侠女

This 200-minute long movie is actually an amalgamation of two different movies: the first half is a story the same as "New Dragon Gate Inn", while the last half is a story on some kind of wisdom about Buddhism's philosophy of how to become a true man by putting down his killing knife. Each part could be an individual movie, but the entirety seems kind of wired.

The director significantly exceeded other contemporary movies in kung fu design and visual effect, and he offered an almost perfect show of "There is always someone better than you".

这部长达200分钟的电影分明是两部主旨截然不同的电影：前一部是类似《新龙门客栈》的故事，后一部则完全成了弘扬佛学的“放下屠刀立地成佛”的大智慧电影。单独看哪一部都是可以独立成片的，但凑在一起似乎就觉得有点奇怪。

在武术设计上，导演明显超出了同时代的水平，而且几近完美地表现了中国人心目中的“一山更比一山高”的意境。
