May 18/华丽的休假

Like its peer "A Taxi Driver" and "Fork Lane", this movie is based on the 1980 democratization protest in Gwangju Korea, which is almost the earliest one to directly depict the slaughter happened. As a movie, its skill is still needed to be perfected, but its courage should be thought highly.

Korea has May 18th massacre, and Mainland China has June 4th massacre, but Koreans could make such movie to memorize their devotion, while there is NO movies in China which could refer to June 4th event. That is more than the gap between China and Korea, it is a gap between civilization and savage.
