Detective Dee: The Four Heavenly Kings/狄仁杰之四大天王

Hark Tsui's ambition of building a Detective Dee Universe is so apparent, and this could be Chinese peer compared to Marvel Comic Universe and DC Comic Universe in Hollywood.

Yet, the special visual effects have surpassed the previous one, which is a benchmark in the industry. However, Hark Tsui may twist the focus of the movies as he concentrates on visual effect techniques a little too much, the imagination is limited by the existing script, many of the topics worth exploring are ultimately designed to showcase the background of special effects.

In addition, the lack of persuasive performances remains a major issue in the film, especially Feng, Shaofeng who blinks too much.
