1921

This is just a propaganda movie depicting the foundation of the Party in 1921 for the celebration of China Communist Party's centennium. The basic story framework is OK, but the editing is so broken that you would find it hard to learn the whole story if you are not familiar with the history of CCP.

As a propaganda one, the movie is full of lies. For example, Li Da the party organizer then refused to accept the Soviet Russia's money, which was not true. China Communist Party received the money of Russia from the very beginning of its foundation. Another example is the shaping of characters like Li Da and Yang Kaihui (Mao Zedong's first public wife). Sarcastically, Li Da himself later left the party and devoted himself in education. He, stayed in the Mainland, was so lucky to die in 1966 or he would have experience more suffering in the Culture Revolution. Yang Kaihui, a poor girl, betrayed by Mao Zedong and trapped by Mao Zedong to be killed by Mao's enemy.

To watch a propaganda movie would bring you more fun, if you are familiar with the true history.
