Battle of Chosin Reservior/长津湖

This is a three-hours long propaganda advertisement rather than a movie.

The first impression is that this movie spends lots of time in stressing that the Korean War broke out because USA wanted to invade China, which was apparently a twisted history lesson taught to Chinese audience. The movie bases itself in such fake history basis to incite the audience's patriotism and their loyalty to Chinese Communist Party.

Second, the movie does even fail as a movie, because there are so many broken clues inside. The propaganda department wanted to tell so many things inside: The grow-up of some young soldiers, the story of Mao An‘ying the son of Mao Zedong, the destroyed 31 infantry, and last but not least the war took place in Chosin Reservoir, etc. How can you make a good movie if you do not know which one to concentrate on? Thus, the movie looks more like a connection of some pieces of different stories, not a single story.

Trust the rank of IMDB, which is more precise than in Chinese own movie websites, in reflecting the true nature of this movie.
