Compared to some of other representative zombie-themed works by Lam Ching-ying, this film is more complete in its "zombie universe theory system", but the overall film quality is sort of "average", the main reason being the problems with character design and the storyline. The main progression of the story almost entirely depends on the mischief of two unreliable apprentices (Man Choi and Chou Sheng), which to some extent even made the antagonist (Master Shek Kin, the senior disciple) become a protagonist.
相比于林正英的其他几部僵尸题材代表作，本片在“僵尸宇宙理论体系”上更加完整，但在电影质量上显得一般，主要原因是角色人设的崩坏和故事情节的问题。故事的主要推进几乎完全靠两个不靠谱徒弟（文才和秋生）的捣乱，这在一定程度上甚至让反派（大师兄石坚）成了正面角色。
