This sequel falls short of the high bar set by its predecessor. Instead of an epic, the audience get a routine love story between a king and an enemy general that leaves the plot feeling disjointed.
Even the action loses its punch: the four Vajras are surprisingly under-powered, making the heroes look equally weak. I'm holding out hope for the final chapter, but I'm afraid the director may have their work cut out for them to deliver a satisfying finale.
