This is the first R-rated superhero movie and it is very successful as there are full of sex jokes, nude scenes and violence in it. However, all of these are necessary for the movie itself, Ryan Reynolds did not abuse it. And the success of the movie lies far more than some sex jokes, we all know Ryan Reynolds had kept advising FOX to film a single movie for the role Deadpool for 11 years and finally he did it and was rewarded! You can tell how concentrated the cast were and how hard they worked to make this movie (I can tell they made full use of the poor budget), which in my mind is the real key to its success.
I would like to view this movie as a love story rather than a superhero one, because Deadpool's motivation is not so-called "to save the people" "to save the earth" or "to save the peace", his purpose is simple and direct: to protect my girlfriend and kill anyone who wants to harm her. That is not so heroic but more warm.
