The movie was somewhat like "
Terminator 2: Judgement day", succeeded in making new breakthrough based on the success of the former one, and obtained better effect than, or at least as much as, the former one, which was fairly few in Hollywood with various sequels. Besides the more shining visual effect, the movie also succeeded in adding the human part in a story about robots, and thus avoided to made itself to be a pure demonstration of visual effect and became more humane. Of course, the movie's visual effect was very good, and many U.S. military weapons' involvement made it almost a United States military forces show commercials.

本片跟《
终结者2：审判日》有点类似，都是在前作已经取得巨大成功的基础上，又有新的突破，取得了丝毫不亚于甚至超过前作的效果，这在续集层出不穷的好莱坞并不多见。除了更加炫目的视觉效果之外，本片成功地把人的因素安排到纯粹的机器人之间的战争之中，从而避免了很可能的本片成为纯粹视觉效果展示的俗套，而变得更富有人情味。当然，本片的视觉效果相当出色，而且众多美国军队武器的加盟让本片简直就成了美国军队的军力展示广告片。
