Encounter of the Spooky Kind/鬼打鬼

Although the name of the movie was Spooky Kind, its content was really about Human Kind and the conflicts, legally or morally, in human society; while the spooky kind had become kind of tools, not idols worshiped high above, but just some thugs used by people. This movie more than discussed an irony of the human society, but also confirmed the false of the spooky-kind society.

The director was very smart to design the part of the leading role being framed by using the structure of Chinese character, which was very refreshing.

The movie, with distinct features of the spooky movies at that time, was one of Sammo Hung's masterpieces.

名字是鬼打鬼，实际上是人打人，仍然是人间社会的人情法理的纠葛，而鬼怪只不过是成为了人的一种工具，已经不是高高在上受人崇拜的对象，而成为受人指使和利用的打手，这既是对人间社会的一种反讽，也是对鬼神社会的虚妄性的证实。

片中有一个桥段设计很巧妙：巡捕将张大胆（洪金宝）拦在家中，指责他杀妻，张大胆说卖豆腐的老伯可作证非他所为。想不到老伯已中风，无法言语，巡捕让老伯手书“有”或“冇”来为张大胆作证。老伯本想写“有”，想不到收了贿赂的捕头（林正英）在老伯刚写完“冇”就把纸抽走，张大胆有口莫辨。这样聪明地利用汉字作为桥段设计，还不多见。

本片是洪金宝的代表作之一，带有那个时代的鬼片的鲜明特色。
