This movie was one of Jackie Chan's early masterpiece, which fully demonstrated the characteristics of his kung fu: compact and flexible, capable of making use of "props" around, full of wisdom. The fight in the barn and the shuttlecock-football game was impressive. Nevertheless, for those non-hong kong audience, the parts of the shuttlecock-football game and the the Bun Scrambling might be a little too long.
本片是成龙早期的代表作之一，充分体现了他的功夫特点：小巧精干，善于利用身边的道具，充满智慧。在谷仓的打斗和具有时代特色的“踢毽球”令人印象深刻。不过，从非香港的观众的角度来看，踢毽球和抢包山占的篇幅可能有点长。
