KANO/嘉农

This is a very inspiring and touching movie, simple but encouraging, I could not keep my tears while watching it. The story is actually simple: a baseball team made up of different races, which had not won even a one game before, tried much hard to win the first prize of Taiwan and then won the second place in the top baseball game named Koshien.

The history story itself is exciting, and the director told the story well. More than simply talking about a baseball team, the director told the story in the background of the development of Taiwan colony under Japanese ruling. That was almost the best time of Taiwan colony and everything, including agriculture, irrigation and baseball, seemed bright, and this atmosphere created by the movie touched everyone of the audience.

Hard to believe the producer of this movie is Te-Sheng Wei, the director of "Seediq Bale", as the Taiwan colony in these two different movies are totally opposite, Taiwan in this movie is bright and enjoyable here but is dark and full of conflicts in "Seediq Bale". Yet, I think this is the complication of colony culture and Taiwan. You can not simply decide which is white and which is black.

However, this movie has been banned in Mainland, because the Communist Party does not like the pro-Japan tone; they want people's hatred to Japan to support themselves, thus almost all the information of this movie have been deleted inside the Mainland.

So, this movie is the direct reason for me to make the decision to delete all the douban.com URL links in my blog. Well, I think it is fair enough since douban.com has deleted the URL of KANO webpage.
