Oh my Gosh! I can't believe my eyes, how come some R-rated food-based animation so dirty and so lovely while it still have some positive values? Seth Rogen and his peer friends are very good at such kind of topics.
For a movie starring and written by Seth Rogen, you would expect to see a straight forward raunchy comedy with no-holds-bar vulgarity and abundance of four letter words. This comedy moreover, manages to squeeze in a surprisingly thought-provoking allegory to religion along with the predictably irreverent humor, similar to what we saw in 'This Is The End' which followed a cast of characters trying to survive the apocalypse. Seth Rogen employs all the food products in a supermarket (and the douche of course) to build a quasi-human-society with various histories (like Hitler German, WWII, American Indians, religious conflicts in Arabian Peninsula, etc) and retell the whole history in a much funny way. Even the faith held by all food products that they would be taken by "gods" to the "Great Beyond" is a splendid ironic metaphor to all religions' "paradise", while the Sausage voiced by Seth Rogen disclosed the whole truth under the guide of a Bible-like menu. And, everything happens in a much fun way!
Sausage Party is a funny and irreverent animated comedy that shows Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg still have their A-game, even if their over-the-top humor isn't everyone's cup of tea. This movie is astoundingly hilarious and is worth seeing.
The animation mimics lots of ancestor movies:

Final fights:
And the final astonishing raunchy party:
Edward Norton the voice actors even made fun of himself:

When the cast are young...
