Expectedly, this movie achieved a big success and almost re-created the famous villain image Joker. Joaquin Phoenix offered a perfect solo show and almost support the whole movie all by himself.
The best point of the movie is: it is so easy to create a Joker, who could come from any of us. We don't need a psycho to make a Joker, just a crushed soul would do.
Yet, this movie is a good one itself, but not a good Joker one compared to "The Dark Knight" mainly due to its loose ending. I had expected a very fierce debate between Joker and the TV host (by Robert De Niro) and Joker could have convinced him and/or most of the audience his philosophical idea. Because his was Joker and he could incite a potential riot, wasn't it? However, in the movie he just stood up and shoot the host. What? and why?
Performance impression:
Director: Todd Phillips
Stars: Joaquin Phoenix, Robert De Niro, Zazie Beetz
