The Sacrifice/金刚川

This is a mainstream patriotic movie on propagandizing the bravery of the Chinese army and the evil of the America. However, the movie was a failure since the beginning: the theme of the movie was the fight about a bridge which was the only way for Chinese army to go to the frontier. Yet, lots of details demonstrate the directors/producers failed to understand basic military common sense at all, such as to build the bridge so apparently across the river instead of building it one foot or so underwater to keep it invisible to American reconnaissance aircraft.

Details determine success, it also could determine failure. Without enough credible military details, the movie unavoidably turned to personal heroism rather than patriotism. Yet, a low quality personal heroic movie.
