This movie looks like a comedy but actually a light horrible one, and it is a children version of "The Truman Show". What would you think if you find you are under 7-24 monitoring and everything in your life is carefully planned?
The setting of the movie story is a little exaggerated but based on a solid social fact: Chinese parents take their children as their own "products", and always want to make perfect plans for their children, even if their children might be treated as 7-24 prisoners. The movie did a good job in disclosing such social phenomenon and leaving the discussion to the audience.
The movie shares the same "Xihong Shi Universe" with its two prequels: "Goodbye Mr. Looser/夏洛特烦恼" and "Hello Mr. Billionaire/西虹市首富", and one can see many connections among the three films.
