This movie is a typical Zhang Yimou product and a blockbuster box office, yet there are lots of controversy about this movie. Zhang's filming skills are really good and he kept controlled the whole movie well, however, his weakness is very obvious: the story does not make sense at all. The "conspiracy" cost at least five people's death just in order to force Qin Hui the big treacherous official to recite a poem? That is really nonsense.
